At least 84 people have been killed and dozens injured
after a truck ran into Nice's packed waterfront, in France ploughing into hundreds
of people gathered along the city's famous waterside Promenade des Anglais for a Bastille Day fireworks display.
Video footage have emerged which shows the police trying to stop the lorry before it picks up speed, slamming into the crowd.Several
children are among the dead in what has been described as a monstrous
"terrorist" act.
The driver zig-zagged along the promenade for some two
kilometres (1.3 miles), mowing people down along the way, he then emerged from the vehicle
and started shooting, sending hundreds of panic-stricken men, women and
children running in terror.
The attacker has been officially identified through identity papers as 31 year old Tunisian, Antwan Kumiya,a resident of Nice were discovered in the truck.
