Twitter just announced a MAJOR change that will extend your 140 characters limit

It seems Twitter is about to get more flexible for all users. The social media company says it is getting rid of some of its rules, which can be confusing and sometimes alienating to new users of its social-media service.
For instance, to direct a post to someone on Twitter and let other people see it, you have to put punctuation -- .@ -- before the person’s user name. If you want to reply to a tweet, or have a conversation with several people, their user names would count in your post, even adding pictures on some tweets counts against the 140-character limit on messages.
This new change will allow users compose longer messages without been impeded by pictures, videos,Gifs or a twitter handle.

I must say this is good news!
